Dave Lu is a veteran in the technology industry, having worked for over two decades at big tech companies including Yahoo!, Apple Cisco and eBay and founded two successful startups, Fanpop and Pared.

Dave is also the Co-Organizer of Stand With Asian Americans. Dave and his team literally started a national movement when they wrote a letter condemning hate crimes against Asians in March of 2021. This letter was signed by over 1,000 prominent business leaders and published as a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal. This letter now has over 8,000 signatures—including President George W. Bush, Andre Iguodala, JJ Abrams and others.

Dave and his team have committed to raising $10 million to support nonprofits fighting discrimination against AAPIs and have already supported a number of incredible organizations, including Stop AAPI Hate, AAPI Women Lead, NAPAWF, Advancing Justice - Asian Law Caucus, Association for Asian American Studies, Dear America Project, APIA Vote, and the Asian American Education Project.

Dave is also the creator of a community called the Asian American Founders Circle, which has grown to over 300 founders including Tony Xu (DoorDash), Steve Chen (YouTube), Kevin Lin (Twitch) and many others. AAFC inspired the launch of Hyphen Capital, a syndicate focused on investing in AAPI founders that has invested in over 80 startups since launching in fall of 2020. Dave was recently named to the Board of Directors of the Asian Pacific American Center at the Smithsonian.

Dave received his bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
