KARA DALLMAN
A longtime advocate of members of the military and their families, Kara Dallman is the Executive Director of Our Military Kids.
Our Military Kids recognizes the sacrifice of children of deployed National Guard, deployed Reserve, and post 9/11 combat-injured service members by offering extracurricular activity grants that build the child's self-confidence, enhance family wellness, and strengthen a shared sense of community. Our Military Kids has proudly given out more than $30 million dollars via 77,000 grants to military families throughout the United States since its founding in 2004.
A retired Navy Veteran and military spouse of 20 years, Kara joined Our Military Kids as Executive Director in June of 2020. Kara brings more than 14 years of experience in the military nonprofit space to this role, most recently serving as the Executive Vice President of Advancement and Strategic Alliances at United Through Reading.
Highly driven and entrepreneurial, Kara leads Our Military Kids with a focus on enhancing organizational operations, optimizing fundraising, and maintaining sound financial practices. A strong believer in collaboration, she has a proven track record for working together with investors, industry, and other nonprofits to make everyone stronger.
Kara has a BS from the College of the Holy Cross where she was commissioned through Navy ROTC, an MBA from San Diego State University’s Fowler College of Business, and a Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown’s McCourt School of Public Policy.
Kara and her husband have two grown children who define themselves with pride as military kids.
