Terri Wingham is the founder and CEO of A Fresh Chapter (AFC) — a non-profit with a mission to help people make sense of the complicated emotions of cancer and gain the tools, support, and community to thrive, even in the midst of challenging circumstances.

Since 2013, AFC has helped hundreds of participants heal the emotional scars of cancer through a range of successful in person and online programs. In 2019, AFC set an audacious goal to transform the lives of one million people impacted by cancer by 2025. To accomplish this goal, the organization is undertaking an ambitious three-phased program to scale its innovative programs, including communities that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.

Launched in New Delhi, India, A Fresh Chapter has since expanded to South Africa, Peru, Kenya and the United States. In each of these countries, A Fresh Chapter works with local leaders and health advocates to adapt its model to a new cultural context.

Terri believes that people are not defined by the most difficult parts of their story, and is passionate about helping others redefine and reclaim their lives; whether living with or beyond cancer. As a committed global health advocate and cancer support innovator, Terri speaks frequently on topics relating to using adversity as a catalyst for growth.

Terri holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Entrepreneurship from Royal Roads University in Canada and is passionate about helping people reclaim their stories and discover new perspectives, purpose, and possibilities in their lives.
