Kindred Motes Philanthropic Advisor

Kindred Motes is the Founder and Managing Director of KM Strategies Group and speaks with clients about communications, digital strategies, campaign-building and narrative storytelling. Kindred has worked with USAID, ACLU, Global Citizen, The Obama White House, Netflix, Participant Media, Amnesty International, Oxfam, Google, MacArthur Foundation, New America, Southern Poverty Law Center, Girl Rising, the GenderSmart Investing Summit, Vera Institute of Justice, and others.

Passionate about strategic planning for digital marketing and campaign implementation, his efforts have engaged more than 350M people worldwide. Additionally, his audience growth strategies have helped NGOs, foundations, and nonprofit organizations acquire more than 1.1 million new followers.

He also works with organizations to leverage marketing/social impact campaigns within international and governmental affairs work, including at the United Nations, the Summit of G20 Heads of State and Government, the United States Congress, the Parliament of the United Kingdom, and the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26).

An advisor to a number of organizations, Kindred serves on the board of directors for the ACLU of Alabama, the Advisory Council of Fountain House, and formerly served as Senior Advisor to New America and Global Citizen.

Kindred is a first-generation college and graduate student, earning his Bachelor of Arts from Birmingham-Southern College. Kindred earned his Master of Arts in international relations with honors from the University of Essex.

An Alabama native, he is the proud son of a retired assembly line worker and a former US Postal Service employee, and identifies as a member of the LGBT community. Kindred lives in Washington, DC with his husband, Dr. Raúl Caso.
